Plans to build a two way dedicated cycle lane along Holland Park Avenue have been put on hold. Discussion were held over a period of 12 months with TfL, the Council, Cycle Groups and our MP to convince all parties that while residents supported cycling and walking TfL’s intended cycleway would not bring any benefits to the wider community. Covid-19 has put all further discussions on hold, meanwhile the Government is hoping to encourage more cycling and walking throughout the country to take the pressure off traffic congestion and public transport.

A pilot scheme for a cycle way along Kensington High Street is proposed and could be installed by Autumn. This will be a temporary cycle lane and will be monitored by the Council for its impact on traffic and the benefits to encourage more cycling. Additional Cycle Quietways are being installed in Norland and Notting Hill areas. Pilot schemes to introduce electric scooters will be announced by the Council.
